Women's Medical Fund will hold its 16th Annual Spring Reception on May 19th. Every year, Women's Medical Fund supporters gather and honor a person or organization whose work has furthered access to abortion with the Rosie Jimenez Award. In 1977 Rosie Jimenez, the single mother of a five-year-old girl, was the first woman to die of an illegal abortion as a result of the Hyde Amendment. It is in her memory that WMF honors Steph Herold, former WMF phone counselor, for taking advocacy to a new generation of reproductive justice activists using social media.
WMF also welcomes featured speaker Kierra Johnson, Executive Director of Choice USA, a leading pro-choice organization that works to mobilize and provide support for the diverse, upcoming generation of leaders.
We invite you to join us to share great food, drinks and most important, the camaraderie of other reproductive justice supporters in an informal setting. Join us and get inspired!
